Sgt. Victor L. McCoy, 76, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away Friday, June 24, 2023, at the Waters of Greencastle.
He was born in Danville, Illinois August 15, 1946, the son of Cecil Leroy McCoy and Rose Etta Rutan McCoy.
Victor was a U S Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagle, also a member of the Sullivan Church of The Nazarene, a lifetime member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #139 and the DAV, also the Indiana Sheriff’s Association. He retired from Crane and also had a self-employed wood working business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, also his wife, Barbara Bowen McCoy in 2018 and a sister, Sherry Snider.
Survivors include two daughters; Tammy McCoy of Sullivan, Indiana and Kelia Dean (Robert) of Carbondale, Illinois, three grandchildren; Rachel Green, Robert Dean III and Benjamin Dean, three great-grandchildren; Ashton, Gracen and Jordan and one great-great grandchild, Raylynn.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Todd Gotshall officiating. Burial in the Little Flock Cemetery with Military graveside rites by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Indiana Sheriff’s Association envelopes will be available at the funeral home
