Walter L. Padgett

Walter Lee Padgett, 74, of Farmersburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on July 27, 1946 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Mervin Walter Padgett and Wilda Cassle Padgett. Walter was a veteran of the US Army. He married Nancy Moore on March 29, 1969 and was a warehouse supervisor at Columbian Home Products in Terre Haute, Indiana where he worked for 51 years. Walter attended Maryland Community Church in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals. Walter loved spending time with his family and never met a stranger.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Sickora.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy Moore Padgett, three children; Ronald “Ron” Padgett (Amy Jo) of Brazil, Indiana, Amy Heyna of Cape Coral, Florida and Robert Padgett (Jesse) of Mandan, North Dakota, sister, Sally Newell of Palestine, Illinois and six grandchildren; Victoria Chaney, Ashten Hinkle, Alexis Hinkle, Noah Heyna, Lucas Heyna, Maren Alberston Padgett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews that he adored.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Sam Loomis officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home.
