Walter Dewayne Whiteman Obituary

Walter “Dewayne” Whiteman, 75, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on September 29, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama the son of Walter and Wanda Turney Whiteman. Dewayne was a veteran of the US Army. He was the service and parts director at Oldsmobile for several years before he retired. Dewayne was a member of the Shelburn American Legion Post 197 and the Sullivan VFW Post 2459.

Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Jeanie Burger Whiteman, two sons; Christopher (Judy) Whiteman and Bradley (Sandy) Whiteman, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the Shelburn American Legion on October 23, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
