Clay Curtis Jett, 84, of Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He was born on November 13, 1932 in Knox County, Indiana the son of Joseph Henry and Lorraine (Phillippe) Jett. Clay was a US Army veteran. He was a millwright at Stran Steel in Terre Haute for over 30 years and he later worked as a bus driver and custodian/ maintenance for Southwest School Corporation for 20 years. Clay was a member of The United Steelworkers Union in Terre Haute and the Sullivan County Coon Hunters Association. Clay was a racecar driver, coon hunter, umpire, avid Pacer and Colts fan and loved playing Texas Hold’em.
Clay is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joseph LaMonte Jett and grandson, Mike Cameron Horn.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years whom he married on July 18, 1953, Donna Donovan Jett, son, Joseph C. (Hui Cha) Jett of Freelandville, Indiana, two daughters; Patty Sue (Mike D.) Horn of Carlisle, Indiana and Sherri Jett of Omaha, Nebraska, brother, Gerald Edward (Wilma) Jett of Carlisle, Indiana, sister-in-law, JoAnn Jett of Oaklandon, Indiana and three grandchildren; Sean L. Jett, Angela J.B. Jett and Tyler Clay Jett.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Carlisle, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home.
