David Paul Atherton

David Paul Atherton, 81, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on June 29, 1934 in Amo, Indiana the son of George Ralph and Minerva Jane (Elsbury) Atherton. David received an associate’s degree. He was a Gunnery Sgt. in the US Marine Corp and served in the Vietnam War.

David is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Jane Cole Atherton, son Paul Atherton, two daughters; Jan Atherton and Patti Velsor, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother Robert Atherton and sister Mary Minerva Terrell.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2015 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Bishop Warren and Bishop Joe Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Brust Funeral Home.
