Woodrow Wilson, 99, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
He was born on January 6, 1917 in Jasonville, Indiana the son of Perry Gilbert Wilson and Helena Jones Wilson. Woodrow was a proud union coalminer. He was a founder of Bibleview Baptist Church in Sullivan, Indiana, pastored several churches and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America for over 40 years.
Woodrow is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Francis Marie Johnson, three daughters; Eleanor Jane Thurman, Wanda Pearl Handley and Anita Kay Hussong and 27 siblings.
Survivors include four sons; Fountain Woodrow Wilson (Rita) of Dugger, Carlton Everett Wilson (Bertie) of Robinson, Illinois, Bradley Eugene Wilson (Sandy) of Carlisle and Paul Duane Wilson (Theresa) of Murdock, Illinois, two daughters; Myrna Lee Wilson of Indianapolis and Maria Gay Berry of Terre Haute, brother, Jack Wilson of Linton, sister, Katherine Burns of Sullivan, twenty grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Larry Kimmel officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home.
