Janet L. (Alexander) Grable

Janet Lee Alexander Grable, 63, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her home.

She was born on November 7, 1954 in Sullivan, Indiana the daughter of Delbert and Marie (Woods) Alexander. She was a 1973 graduate of S.H.S. Janet attended I.S.U. and received her degree in Elementary Education. She taught 6 years in Hanna, Wyoming, 22 years at Graysville Elementary in the 2nd grade and 4 years at RCA grades 3rd and 4th. She was a member of the Indiana Teachers Association, Southwest Sullivan Education Association, Tri Kappa Delta, Sullivan VFW Auxiliary and Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary. She also worked at or was involved with 4H, Stairstep to Education, Sullivan Index, WVCF and Millers Merry Manor.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Alexander, sister, Debbie Tatman and two nephews; Ryan Boles and David Gambill.

Survivors include her son, Alex (Brandi) Grable of Graysville, Indiana and Braydon Grable of Marshall, Illinois, two sisters; Kathy Gambill of Hymera, Indiana and Vickie (Tony) Boles of Sullivan, Indiana, one very special grandson, Drake Grable. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. Erich Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Graysville, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, November. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sullivan City Pool or RCA in Graysville.
